Today, we participated on another coursing Grand Prix 2009 - CACIL, CACT. But we registered also our young Asya Adira Mraja with freshly received licence, so she attended her very first competition. Adira is not very skillful, she wasn't trained very much on trainings. Well, she is the most showed borzoi in our family :) We hadn't expected too much, we hoped to see her interest to haunt at least. It was very hot that day and borzois don't like this weather. The rival of Calinka in the first run was slower female borzoi so Calinka didn't show her best performance. I have already mentioned for many times, Cali is dutiful runner and she actively pushes the lure across the whole track. If the rival is slow or untrained, or he/she cuts the track, she doesn't run in full speed. She didn't receive many points in the first run but she was one of the "best three borzois". Alyosha and Adira ran together with the third rival. Alyosha ran as a bullet, he superbly pushed the lure in full speed. But he was attacked by third rival, so Alyosha slowed down in the finish straight. The judges didn't notice this attack so they reduced points for Alyosha and they didn't disqualify the third rival. Adira didn't start well and she improved only for last half of the track, her performance was average, her point score was one of the lowest ones. The second runs of our dogs started with run of Adira. Her every genes and senses had waken up apparently :) She was able to run in nice speed and she pushed the lure very nicely. We were really nice surprised by her performance and she finished 5th and received title CACT. Alyosha's rival was slower borzoi male, so Alyosha could show his great performance again. He pushed the lure in full speed again, so the rival had to cut the track significantly. As the rival ran on the inner side of the track, he caught Alyosha in the finish straight, but because the previous attack in the first run, young Alyosha left the rival to kill the lure. However, the judges liked Alyosha's performance, so he got the same point score in the second run as the best borzoi - winner! So in summary, Alyosha finished 2nd from 11 borzois and received titles R-CACIL and CACT. The winner is Slovak Coursing Champion already so CACT title belongs to next dog automatically. In this case to our Alyosha. Calinka ran in the last run with two other borzois. But one of the rival attacked the other one in the start straight and he didn't notice the bush standing in front of him. He turned a somersault and he stood still disoriented for a while. But this time, the judges saw his attack clearly, so they disqualified him now. Calinka ran the rest of the track with the best borzoi and she liked it very much. It was really nice run but she wasn't in her best physical condition so she finished 3rd. She is Slovak Coursing Champion so the CACT title belongs to next female borzoi (our Adira).
